As stated in the preamble to the Washington University School of Medicine’s Conflict of Interest Policy, “The faculty and administrators at Washington University School of Medicine share with the University common goals of teaching, research and service. All recognize a shared responsibility to ensure that their efforts in the School of Medicine are conducted in an unbiased manner that serves all three of these essential goals. It is thus the responsibility of the School of Medicine and its employees to guard against conflicts of interest that might compromise the integrity and objectivity of the University Community.”
